I was tasked with creating a 1-minute promotional trailer for the vinyl re-releases of Paul Weller’s Illumination and Days of Speed.
For both segments of the trailer I chose to recreate and animate the album art.
I also created exploded versions of the vinyl packages.
For the 'Illumination' segment of the trailer I had a selection of music videos and documentary footage to work with. I used the low-fi documentary footage to begin the trailer – this acts as a build-up to the introduction of the animated album cover and chorus of the song.
I only had stills to use for the 'Days of Speed' segment, but with subtle animation I was able to bring them all to life in the trailer.
I created 3 different versions of the video (wide, square and portrait) to cover all areas of social media.
